Counselling is a safe and confidential collaboration between a qualified counsellor and a client to promote emotional well-being, enhance self-understanding and resolve identified concerns.

Dr Rhonda Emonson is an experienced and qualified Counsellor with tertiary qualifications in Counselling, Coaching and Conflict Resolution and is an accredited trainer in Resilience.

With a wealth of experience and qualifications, Rhonda works with those who feel emotionally exhausted, drained and overwhelmed. Rhonda supports those who are emotionally stuck by using a clear, empowering framework to help them move forward.

Rhonda has personally worked with over 15 thousand serving and non serving members of the Australian Defence Force and welcomes further clients who have a referral from their medical practitioner. 

Clients who have a referral from their medical practitioner are able to receive a 50% rebate from Medicare for their session. 

A referral is not necessary to book a session and clients who choose not to have a referral are welcome.

Recognized Focused Psychological Strategies are:

Psycho Education: Supporting clients with their mental health condition, and supporting readiness for change.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT): Using behaviour interventions, exposure techniques to change unhelpful thoughts and behaviors.

Relaxation Strategies: Teaching and support to manage anxiety

Skills Training: Providing training in problem - solving, stress management, anger management and social skills

Interpersonal Skills: Focusing on relationship patterns and interpersonal issues to reduce distress. 

Please Note: Sessions where there is Family Violence and or substance abuse are not provided.

Couples counselling can be provided..however, joint sessions for family therapy and relationship counselling are not covered by Medicare or DVA. 

 

1:1 Sessions

All sessions are individual and 50 minutes in duration.
