Resilient Mindshift for Soldiers

A supportive program designed specifically for serving and ex-serving military personnel who may be experiencing the ongoing impact of stress, sleep difficulties, operational demands, transition challenges, emotional fatigue, or difficulty after prolonged periods of high-pressure environments.

Program is delivered 1:1 via telehealth or in a 4-hour workshop. The RMS program combines practical strategies, reflective conversations, psycho education, focused psychological strategies and resilience building tools and is clinically relevant to Veterans needs.

Defence personnel...

Military personnel are trained to push through, stay mission focused and continue functioning under pressure. These strengths are invaluable.

However, many serving and former serving soldiers can find themselves carrying ongoing stress responses long after situations have passed.

We know that over time, this can affect emotional regulation, sleep, relationships, focus, motivation, physical well-being and the ability to fully 'switch off'.

1. Understand Your Responses

Learn how high alert is being maintained

2. Identity Triggers and Patterns

Recognise what keeps your system 'switched on'

3. Learn and Apply Practical Tools

Reduce load and learn to regulate your system

4. Build Control and Flexibility

Switch 'on' when needed - Switch 'off' when not needed

Built around the Six Domains of Resilience

Delivered in 12 x 30 minute, teleheatlh sessions (or workshop format), the program offers accessible support with clinicians who not only understand a preventative and proactive approach to mental health, but who also have genuine compassion and experience with serving and ex serving soldiers.

Resilient Mindshift for Soldiers  is a preventative and proactive approach to mental well being. Resilience Mindshift for Soldiers has been adapted from the CReC (helloDRIVEN.com) program by Dr Rhonda Emonson.

How does it work?

There are several intakes each year. The sessions are 20-30 minutes each week and via telehealth with a referral from your regular Medical Practitioner. Workshops are also conducted periodically throughout the year in a variety of venues.

The focus is on creating a respectful, practical and non-judgemental environment where you can strengthen skills in a way that is relevant and achievable and one on one with the support of an experienced Clinician.

What will you receive?

After arranging an appointment with you, each week, at the same time and from the same telephone number, you will receive a 20-30 minute call from a clinician who will support you over the 12 week period with the Resilient Mindshift for Soldiers Program. The first session is held via Telehealth as this is a DVA requirement.

  1. Worksheets each week to make notes on between sessions to consolidate what was covered in the session.
  2. A PR6 overview so that we can focus on what is important and relevant to you and for you to keep.
  3. A set of magnetic tiles that align with each of the six domains of resilience so that you can place on your fridge as a reminder - no charge and a necessary resource to participate in each session.
  4. After you have completed the 'on boarding process', which includes the initial telehealth session, you will receive a three month subscription to the Resilience App - No charge.
  5. Monthly newsletter on relevant subjects and 'quick reads'.
  6. Appointments during or after business hours at the same time each week.
  7. Unlimited email support during the 12 week program
  8. Option to continue with further therapeutic support at the conclusion of the 12 week sessions.

If you are participating in one of the workshops, you will receive similar support and resources, except for the telehealth 1:1 sessions.

Resilience App

Each participant receives the Resilience App for additional support for the period they are on the program

Newsletter

We will provide additional support with a regular newsletter that includes Tips an Hints that you will find valuable.

PR6

A quick quiz that provides information on the areas we could focus on to gain quick results - you get a coloured copy to keep.

Magnetic Tiles

The magnetic tiles are a necessary tool as part of the program as we work with them in each session AND you can place them on your fridge as a reminder on what we have been working on in between sessions.
